Canning Lid Labels – Free Download

by Josée

With all the bulk of my canning done, I’m excited to start creating other things. But, I’m not quite ready to let go of the canning. Surprised? Probably not. Last night I starting thinking of ways to decorate my canned food. The first thought that came to mind was canning labels.

Labeling your canned food properly is very important. Normally I label my lids with a sharpie pen after the jars are processed and cooled. This method is quick and easy and requires no removal work when the goods have been eaten. Just throw the lid away, you’re suppose to anyways. I don’t like labeling my jars with sticky labels because those label take some serious elbow grease to get them off. Granted you could put the sticker on the lid and that would solve the problem.

Then I came across the idea of making custom labels at Lelo in Noppo Homemade. These labels sit on the lid and can be held in place by the screw band. While I wouldn’t go so far as labeling all of my jars this way (too much work!), I think it’s a lovely idea when you are planning to give away canned food as a gift.

So last night I got to work, I designed six different labels for you to downland for free. Simply click the links below and this will bring you to the goggle groups page. Click on the PDF link, download and print. Each page has 6 labels and are sized for a wide mouth lid (86 mm).

Let me know which is your favorite and if you have any requests or suggestions. I’m thinking a wobble lid label would be cute. Let see if I can convince Cindy to design one (it would be good advertising – wink wink).

how much fun! Yes, I would love to make a "wobble" label – do you still need a label for anything? What else have you been canning? I really like your plum one, but they're all beautiful! Can you email me about how you made the labels so I can do the same thing, and I'll get right on it! Oh, by the way, I love your picture – canned goods look so pretty!

Those are so gorgeous!! I simply love them!!! I think they are much cuter than Lelo in Nopo's (no offense to anyone 🙂 ).

You should think about having them custom made into stickers and then setting up your own etsy shop. I, for one, definitely think they are good enough to pay money for. I almost feel guilty being able to download them for free 🙂

I'm glad you like them! I never thought of opening an Etsy shop. I guess it's something to keep in mind, but for now I don't mind sharing them for free 🙂
