Today I brought my children on a field trip to the
BC Orchard Industry Museum. The topic of the children’s program was
The Trees we Eat. Children identified a variety of fruit trees and learned about how the seasons affect fruit trees and the jobs on the orchard. At the end of the program the children were given four different apple varieties to taste: granny smith, macintosh,
salish and honeycrisp. The educator did a wonderful job teaching the children. She was interactive, easy to understand and interesting. We learned a lot and would definitely make the trek again to take part in one of these programs.
That is awesome!!! I recently did a "test run" to see if my oldest has the ability to sit still and listen to a teacher for a little while and he did smashingly. I'll have to look out for something like this now that I know he will get something out of it!!!
