The Ultimate Guide to Wildlife Tracking with Kids: A Fun and Educational Outdoor Adventure
Let’s face it, exploring nature with kids is hardly a stealthy venture. Any wildlife in the vicinity is either gone or hiding by the time your noisy...
While I was away the latest issue of Taproot arrived in my mailbox. The theme for issue six is water. I think about water often. Every time I fill my cup I look out of our windows at the lake that we draw from. It’s a deceptive thing being close to a lake while living in a semi-arid dessert. Water seems so plentiful, yet it is not. Earlier this year we worked at improving our water consumption habits and I compiled a list of ways to conserve water in the home. We made some progress but there is still much room for improvement.
As I reflect on the importance of water I am awed by the power water holds. Without water life would ceased to exist. Water sustains, heals and even destroys, as we’ve recently seen in Alberta and other parts of the world. We are so intimately connected with water, it is no wonder that children find such joy being surrounded by it.
Speaking of saving water, how's the new upstairs toilet? Is it working well in a low-pressure area? We're looking at replacing ours and now I'm super curious how you are finding yours. 🙂
We love it! I'm always amazed by how well everything flushes down. It's a 3L flush toilet made by Hennessy & Hinchcliffe.
Beautiful images. Water is never far from my mind, both from a conservation perspective and also because being by the water is one of my favourite places in the world to be.
Hey my dear friend! I miss you! Love the water photos. It is so beautiful up there. 2 more weeks and I have my new mailing address. =)
