The winters in the Okanagan tend to be quite overcast. I find that the short cloudy days of this season can be a bit of a downer for me. While I enjoy the respite from the business of the spring, summer and fall, I miss the sun. When the sun does break through the cloud cover I feel energized and happy. Today was a beautiful sunny day and we spent it sledding, skating and visiting with our friends at the farm. It was a little cold and windy but dressed in our warm winter gears we were comfortable. When we returned home everyone felt tired, but it’s a satisfying kind of tired. My children are sporting rosy checks from playing outside in the cold and my muscles are sore from hiking around with Teddy on my back. Now it is time to snuggle around the fire, light our Advent wreath and read the next installment from the Advent book basket.
