5 Benefits of Cold Weather Play for Children: Boost Their Health & Happiness This Winter
Straining to fit into a boot. Whining about a finger caught in the wrong mitten. Searching for that elusive toque. Getting your kids outside to play...
Outside we checked on the plants that overwintered. The peach and apples trees are budding. The raspberries and grape vines are beginning as well. The cabbage, spinach, kale and parsnips that I planted last fall are still alive and enjoying the warmer weather. Eventually I will have to clear out some of the fall crops to make room for beets, swiss chard and carrots. We did plant some Super Sugar Snap Peas in the corner bed, hopefully an earlier start will mean better success that last year.

Fun! We still can't see most of the grass, but the snow will soon melt! I will have to take it easy this year, as I have no beds and am about 7 months pregnant. I also am completely unfamiliar with the planting schedule up here, so I will do that research this spring & summer and hopefully have a little garden next year!
We are still buried under foots of snow in Northern BC, hopefully my garden looks like yours soon! Happy gardening!
We really enjoyed the Jaune Flamee last year- I'm so envious of your bare dirt- seems like winter won't quit here!
