In less than a week we are taking our little family on a big adventure. We are travelling twelve thousand kilometers over the Pacific ocean to spend a month in Thailand. This adventure will be the first time we fly internationally with our three little people and the first time any of us will explore southeast Asia. I have a feeling that there will be a lot of firsts in the next month!

Our decision to travel to Thailand was a spontaneous one that occurred over the festivities of Thanksgiving at our friends, the W‘s, home. After a few drinks my husband thought that travel to Thailand with our friends would be a great idea and who I am to disagree! We booked our tickets a couple days later and there was no turning back. The last time we traveled internationally was six years ago to Italy. For that adventure we booked our flight tickets a year in advance and for a whole year I researched and planned. I kid you not! I drove my husband batty with all the planning. This trip we only have our first week-and-a-half planned and then…I’m not sure. Surprisingly I am neither worried nor anxious about our lack of plans because we’ll be in good company and I am happy seeing where the wind brings us.

We will be travelling through Thailand with several close family friends of ours. On our flight over the W family will be with us, and when we land in Bangkok our friends Mike, Amy and their children from Worldschool Adventures will be meeting us. The three of us families will be travelling together for the month we are there and I am hoping we’ll also have the chance to see one other family that is visiting Thailand at the same time.

I plan to continue updating my blog while I am in Thailand and sharing our adventures and misadventures as I’m sure there will be a few!

It was difficult to keep under wraps! But you never know what can pop up at the last minute which is why I waited until now to share about our plans.

Very good Josee and family. You all need a time to relax and do enjoy your stay there. My prayers are for a very safe journey to the 3 or 4 families. It seems very exiting. Alice
